SPSS Statistics

SPSS Statistics offers advanced statistical analysis. Its ease of use, flexibility and scalability make SPSS accessible to users of all skill levels. SPSS Statistics supports a top-down, hypothesis testing approach to your data.

How to install SPSS on your computer

If you DO NOT have SPSS installed, please contact the Informatics service (informatica-p3 [at] fmed.uc.pt if you are working on the FMUC network, or at icnas [at] securenetworks.pt if you are working on the ICNAS network) and ask for the installation.

How to update or reactivate your SPSS license

If you already have SPSS installed on your computer and the license you are using expired, you will need to update your license file to continue using SPSS.

  1. Open IBM SPSS Statistics License Auhtorization Wizard.

  2. Select your program version and click Next.

  3. Select Auhtorized user license and click Next.

  4. The license will be verified throught the internet. Make sure you are connected, access this file (requires GitHub authentication) and choose the appropriate code.

  5. Enter the license code and click Next.

  6. If the new license code is recognized properly you will see that Authorization succeeded. Just click Next and the Exit.

  7. Do your fantastic, rigorous stats!

  • Laerd Statistics assists you how to analyse your data using SPSS.

  • The guides provide step-by-step instructions, assuming you have little or no knowledge of SPSS Statistics. For each statistical test, the tutorials take you through the complete data analysis process.

  • Although the tutorials were designed to analyse data using SPSS, the step-by-step instructions and the guidelines on how to interpret the results can be easily adapted and applied to other statistical analyses packages.

  • If you are member of faculty/staff you can ask for your free access to the tutorials. (Laerd Statistics do not provide free access to students, including doctoral students and medical residents.)
